Helping children build body awareness, coordination, and connection through the ways they naturally learn best: movement, play, story, rhythm, and imagination.
I am a parent looking for supportThey learn through movement, play, repetition, imagination, relationship, and hands-on experience. Rather than asking a child to sit still and understand an abstract idea, this work helps them experience it through age-appropriate movement, familiar games, stories, rhythm, and character.
Kate Hughes is a certified movement and wellness coach with advanced training in applied movement science. Her Move to Regulate™ approach combines movement coaching with familiar games, rhythms, and imaginative activities, turning body awareness and self-regulation into playful experiences children can practice and use in everyday life.
She also helps parents build supportive home rhythms and practical movement strategies that fit naturally into family life.
Kate works directly with children and their parents or caregivers as a movement and wellness coach. Support may include parent education, playful movement coaching, home strategies, and helping families notice what helps their child feel and move their best.
Kate welcomes referrals from practitioners, teachers, and other professionals looking for a movement and wellness coaching resource for a family. She is glad to work as a complementary part of a child's broader support team.
The first step is a simple inquiry. Please do not include confidential, medical, or identifying information about a child in the initial message.

This is a collaborative conversation between peers; you already know your clients and your lane, and this is a space to explore ideas together.
Possible areas of discussion include: adapting movement coaching for children, building playful and game-based sessions, communicating with parents, structuring a child-friendly session, and recognizing when referral to another professional may be appropriate.

Ask About ConsultationMovement supports focus, coordination, mood, and confidence. For kids especially, movement is not a break from learning. It is part of how they grow.
A child's behavior in the moment is shaped by energy, environment, sleep, screens, and demands on their day. Curiosity about the whole picture opens more options.
Play, rhythm, repetition, story, and movement are not just engagement tools. They are how kids naturally build new skills and confidence.
Small changes in routines, environment, movement, and connection can make a real difference for a family. Practical, playful, and easy to use.
A movement-based kindergarten readiness program for incoming kindergarteners and their grown-ups. Kindergarten asks for more than letters and numbers. Kids are also expected to transition, listen, move, stop, start, wait, and get through a busy day with focus and confidence.
This program uses movement games, familiar play, rhythm, and simple home practices to help families build the physical foundations that focus, coordination, and confidence depend on.
Kate is a certified movement and wellness coach. She teaches movement and its benefits for the body, and helps families build movement-based routines at home. This is educational and wellness-focused coaching.
This is not medical, psychological, occupational, physical, or speech therapy, and it does not diagnose or treat any condition. It is not a replacement for care from a licensed healthcare provider.
If your family is already working with a doctor, therapist, or other provider, Kate is glad to offer movement coaching alongside that care, not in place of it. If at any point a concern seems outside the scope of movement and wellness coaching, Kate will recommend you connect with an appropriate licensed provider.
